Fake Notes in circulation - August Update
The latest Bank of England figures show over a 100% increase in forged notes taken out of circulation between 2007 and 2008.
As cash is still used for over half of all transactions in the UK, it should come as no surprise to learn that 96% of all forgeries are the £20 notes. In Ireland (and other parts of Europe), it is commonly the 50 Euro note to watch for, although various other denominations are found.
How do you protect yourself from this type of crime? Easy! By firstly improving the deterrent factor against would-be counterfeit users, and by also arming your staff with proper bank-tested easy to use, accurate equipment, your chances of accepting fake cash are minimalised. Plus, by using Banknote Bodyguard products, your staff will be more confident handling cash. This can only improve your business.
Banknote Bodyguard fake note detectors can help you to;
1) Boost the confidence of your less-experienced and younger staff by allowing them to quickly determine forged notes from genuine when conducting cash transactions
